"Loftwhale are (unsurprisingly enough, given the name) very large tropical vegetarians, and spend the majority of their long lives high above the ground, their 4 long highly maneuverable main limbs ending in hands with 3 double-jointed fingers for easy grasping of branches. Their digestive system is highly complex; through the web-like gills along the side of their heads they draw great quantities of air while feeding, and with the help of a 5-chambered stomach and a number of other entirely unique organs they divert much of their gaseous waste products into large internal sacs—that a large portion of their body cavity is given over to—in order to take much of their otherwise prodigious weight off both their limbs and the branches of the trees below.
The six secondary arms are constantly in motion plucking at branches and tips to continuously feed; the downward facing eyes and highly developed nostrils and smell organs assist in the selection of the most nutritious and healthy leaves and branches."
