more playing around. Not sure if I'm happy with it, I'll have to let it settle for a while...

EDIT: yep; was working on it on a laptop with terrible calibration so I'm a lot happier with it seeing at home. . . ha! it's always encouraging to have that happen.

and if anyone's interested here's a mid-way-progress shot before I began colouring, as well as the layers palette from the final version.

This is great

Looks like one of those robots you'd find laying around in the forest in the middle of a video game, suddenly springing to life with unknown intentions..
