studies I

Nothing so exciting tonight, just painting from reference - I've really been meaning to do more of this sort of thing forever, I almost NEVER do it - but I've got such a huge 'reference' folder that never gets used so I figured I'd force myself to finally do some.
I got more and more comfortable as I went on as might be obvious (and spent more time on 'em as I went), but a few things I noticed...
photos can look really friggin weird sometimes if you stare at them for too long;
copying from 'em is all well and good but distortion is a BASTARD and makes stuff look wrong anyway,
and DAMN I'm so not used to painting realistic faces T_T

Between 45 minutes and an hour each, I guess.
