Theropod Dawn Process by Mr--Jack Theropod Dawn Process by Mr--Jack
Process image for this pic -

Enjoy!
There wasn't anything particularly fancy about the way I worked on this, so there's not much else to explain.
Working time about 4 hours or so, PS CS3.

Ha! Honestly I got lazy at the end, I'm afraid. Also, I was happy with the level of detail that I had in the dinosaurs and given the smaller scale of the people I would've had to've tighten things up a lot more to make it work . . .

interesting how you start with some of the base colours when you begin with it. did you sort of have an idea of what you wanted before you started? looks awesome :D

I didn't really have much of an idea for the subject, but a general mood/theme was already in my head, yeah.

Thanks!

I love to see the process you go through - it always amazes me to see where you came from to get to where you got to (^^;)
Plus, I'd almost always stop at a step before you do (boredom/frustration D:)

Nice colours again :D

:D

That's one of the things I had to get through when painting digitally, having the confidence to know that it's possible to get from the early stage to some sort of final stage.
Cheers!

Nice color mood :)

how do you add details in the end ?
Did you add darker lines to show contrast ?

The final stage involves a levels adjustment to increase the contrast as well as an unsharp mask to pop out the details a little since the brush I use for the most of this is a bit smudgy.

Thanks :)
