Back to the whole mecha-inspired-by-birds thing again, been wanting to do a paradise tanager for ages now! I think I might try again though and see if I can get a different feel, maybe something lighter and more agile?
Anyway had fun with this, and while the pose is a bit uninspired I'm happier with it looking at it again this morning.
Process will be up later,
Process is here -
Enjoy!

Mecha inspired by birds? Very imaginative!
The pose may not be inspired, but the concept is very clever and creative. The blue markings make it very distinctive and unique; I'd expect to see a design like this in a fighting robot movie like Robot Jox or Pacific Rim, or the Solaris supplement for BattleTech. As a former BattleTech player myself, my Wolf Clan alter-ego would be honored to pilot this machine into battle against the Inner Sphere anytime, definitely. If I had time, I'd post BT specs based on how I imagine this baby would be designed; I see it as a medium (45-50 tons) with large pulse or ER laser in the right arm and probably a lot of sophisticated electronics as a recon mech, fast and maneuverable in keeping with the "birds" theme.
