Riverbed

Ha! It feels like it's been a while since I did anything big like this, though I guess I've actually been a bit more productive lately than usual.. Oh well! 
I had this in my head for a couple of days before I started, and unlike most things that start off like that I actually got to the end of it! I was partly inspired by memories of old natural history books with big illustrations of different ecosystems and a whole bunch of animals in there , but made to look as natural as possible... I feel like you sort of get away with it looking a bit less contrived with an underwater scene like this, but I have fond memories of some jungle and savannah scenes, too.
I ended up playing with scales a bit so it's not quite canon, since most of them were either 2 or 3 feet, which was a bit boring.

I really enjoyed working on this! And it came out pretty close to how I originally imagined in my head, which is always nice.
