Ice Planet 2002 by Mr--Jack Ice Planet 2002 by Mr--Jack
Even though it apparently didn't run for that long, the Ice Planet lego sets were definitely some of my favourites growing up - such an awesome colour scheme, and their theme was just so much fun :D
Something like this has been sitting in my head for ages, and I was really happy to actually finally sit down and get it out.

Hah awesome! I especially like how despite the more realistic style the figures still retain Lego Like proportions possibly due to the bulky clothing ^^

And I also remember being very fond of this range as a kid =D

Would it be alright to use this for a group cover photo on Flickr? A group of us are trying to put an Ice Planet display together for next year's Brickworld Chicago. Group is here.

So true! Ice planet was great. I would love to see your version of the old space sets. I can't remember the name but the colors where black grey and clear neon green I think.

I've been thinking about it, just need to get the time!
I believe some of the Blacktron sets were bright green, black and white, and the Space Police were black and grey with clear green (and red accents)

I have been on DA for a number of years and never really comment on too much. This I had to though. This is amazing work. I feel like you got every component of IP2K2 locked down and added so much character and feeling to it. Very, very cool. Wall worthy for sure.

Reddit's /r/alternativeart brought me here. This is the first comment I think I've ever made and it was nostalgia that did it. You, sir, have created something awe-inspiring and beautiful here. My childhood cannot thank you enough.

Mr--Jack, I think it's apparent you really hit a nostalgic nail on the head with this one! And I have to ask, is it possible to get in any higher resolution than this? The bigger the better, of course! Bravo! Huge thanks to you for illustrating one of my favorite lego sets!

Wow, this is amazing. As a kid, my older brother had a lego manual that had a promotional image for this set. I never had it and always wished for it due to it's amazing concept and color scheme. This is beyond what I imagined it as, as a child though, great job! :)

I took one look at the thumbnail and knew what it was! Very true about the color scheme-- largely subdued cool and neutral colors like white, blue, and black... and then BAM! Bright, transparent orange visors and chainsaws! It added the right amount of contrast and brightness.
Oh, man. This takes me back. And such an awesome tribute! Excellent work!

!!  ... Just looking at this picture, which I opened up for a closer look just cause of the color scheme, I felt something strangely familiar about it.  Then, ofcourse, I read the description and suddenly I remembered everything.  Thanks so much for doing this.  I remember these lego sets and IT WAS a COOL color scheme.  I definitely remember thinking that as a child.
