Artist's Comments
The next few deviations are all work that I produced during a 6 week period that I spent in Prato, Italy, in (their) summer last year.
The first of two final pieces out of the project (I'd hoped to do more, but there were . . well, other things that took up my time in Italy as well  ). There was a whole lot of wank that accompanied these, but it's basically...ALIENS TAKING OVER PRATO! The buildings in here (mostly the Church) are based roughly on the Piazza del Duomo in Prato, just around the corner from where our campus was. I had a lot of fun painting traditionally again—I had a laptop with me but was a lot happier not working on it for these. Watercolour and pen on A2 watercolour paper; lovely to work with. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. I love the detail, the slight distortion, the ruination, and how you've made the buildings a full circle. Kind of feels like the viewer is standing somewhere in the middle, head tipped really far back - or maybe sitting, or even lying - possibly thinking 'Oh, fuck'. Nice work.
