Alice in Wonderland Process by Mr--Jack Alice in Wonderland Process by Mr--Jack
Big file!

Anyways, here it is! (final's here) Nothing too complicated technique-wise in this image, just a lot of painting mostly with a hard round brush + opacity set to pressure.
The lines were done in Sketchbook Pro.
Full resolution is 300 dpi at about A3, or roughly 3400x4700 px.

Enjoy :D

Hi there,
I just started a digital art printed leggings and dresses clothing label, and I need some images to get started.
I really like your artwork and I was wondering if I can use it.
Let me know if I have your permission.
Love
Angela P.

The trick with the lines (aside from lots of practise) is to work large and show the final at a lot smaller, so most imperfections don't show up :)
I'm not really sure if I can explain exactly, though . . .

Thanks! :D

:O omg that's a simple but good-ass tip ( i usually don't show the final art a lot smaller xD )
thanks too :D
but how large do you mean? =/

Well it's a bit more difficult if you're working for print but it's easy to do with stuff you're planning on putting on the web (not to mention it's most certainly always working bigger in that case anyway) - for example, I usually put stuff up here at between 700 and 1200 px high, though my original images are usually between 2500 and 6000 px

This is really cool - do you use photoshop for the painting? I love the contrast between the shadows and highlights - Alice's dress and hair look especially great :)

hehe; that didn't necessarily mean it wasn't a challenge, it was just that I didn't do anything fancy in the way of photoshop techniques or whatever that I could explain aside from just regular painting that shows up in the step-by-step images :D

Oddly enough, I think if you had left it was in that first colored version, it would have been just as awesome, I really like the muted colors, it has a very Wonderland feel to it.

But I'm glad you did do all the other work on it because the final version is just exquisite!

It was done digitally, in a (fairly cheap) program called Sketchbook Pro, which is definitely worth checking out.

Thanks!
