Description

Day 4!
This was going to be something entirely different inspired by a Joanna Newsom song, but it wasn't working at all so I fell back on something a bit more familiar.
Pretty armoured-core this time 'round, and I've also been a bit influenced by a bunch of lego sci-fi stuff I've been looking at lately, people do some pretty crazy stuff! :D

Process is up here

Solar runner- this giant mecha is both heavily armored and fast. The legs are designed similarly to those of running proththetics, and in order to support the weight are much longer than the body. The large engines where the thighs would be on a human body are built to be lightweight yet powerful, and are moderately armored to prevent an easy takedown and still retain their lightweight design. The core is the most heavily armored part of this mecha, containing the fuel, pilot and ammunition. The core is also a more squat design, to prevent weight from becoming a problem for the supporting legs. The overall design is meant to create a balance between the need for protection and the need to be quick and agile during battle. This model was one of many designs to find the perfect balance. Engineers who worked on it are very pleased with the way it had turned out, and one of them stated "all mecha have some advantages to their design, and some disadvantages. This model, I feel, has the most advantages compared to any other I have worked on." Solar runners are used for a variety of purposes and are a common sight in most mecha-related activities.

this is my interpretation of it. I may be completely off and this description may be very inaccurate, so just keep in mind that I am not speaking for the author in this comment.
